A conceptual l y dr iven ar t ist , exploring the tension between reality and invent ion, Jami e Shovl i n (b.1978) works across drawing, collage, projections, text and sound. His drawings on display here demonstrate his meticulous attention to detail and research when it comes to his scientific drawing style. Shovlin staged his first exhibition in 2004, at Riflemaker in London, and his Recent solo exhibitions include Tate Britain, London (2006), City Gallery, Leicester; Artsway; Talbot Rice Art Gallery, Edinburgh and Hatton Gallery, Newcastle (2006/07); the Contemporary Art Museum in Rome, Grand Union, Birmingham (2010), and Ibid Projects, London (2011).
