Everywhere was nowhere, and nowhere everywhere: curated by Mustafa Hulusi

London based artist, photographer and activist Deborah Hobson’s work seeks to stimulate real discussion and change, by attempting to correct misrepresentation of black people and communities. Through exploration of memory, historic and personal figures, identity and the conscious self, her work is deeply intimate while retaining a sense of universal importance in terms of it being a call to action. She focuses particularly on black political campaigners and well-known cultural figures who have been overlooked in the mainstream media. Hobson recently completed an MA in Fine Art at Chelsea College of Arts, and her work has been exhibited across London and Austria.
