Everywhere was nowhere, and nowhere everywhere

Everywhere was nowhere, and nowhere everywhere: curated by Mustafa Hulusi

Past exhibition
Peter Peri The Biregulator 2020 Marker and Spray paint on Canvas 190 x 280 cm

Born in 1971, Peter Peri’s work is largely influenced by the Constructivist movement, of which his grandfather, Lazlo Péri, was a key player. Yet he cites the importance of Suprematism, Modernism and Dada in his work alongside this. Peri’s monumental canvases are reflective of his ability to manipulate pictorial fields through meticulous line and mark-making. No part of his work is unconsidered, and thus we see pared-down lines and carefully curated chromatic choices create fragile optical mazes – often almost three dimensional at first glance. Peri’s work is included in collections at Tate, The Victoria and Albert Museum, the Saatchi Gallery and Kusthalle Basel, amongst others.
