Established in 2019, the Anatolian Awards aim to make Anatolia’s cultural richness visible, to bring the past and present into dialogue, and to honor artistic productions that inspire the future. The awards are presented in five main categories—literature, cinema, music, visual arts, and architecture—and are bestowed upon artists who contribute to Anatolia’s shared cultural identity. In addition, the Baksı Honor Award is presented to figures who have made long-standing contributions to the cultural field, while the Doğan Value Award is awarded in the name of the main sponsor, Doğan Holding.
Osman Dinç, who has sustained his artistic practice since the 1970s, has developed a restrained visual language centered on iron, steel, and glass, translating an intuitive understanding of locally sourced materials into a form legible on a universal scale. His sculptures preserve the essence of their materials, bringing nature, culture, and technique together on a shared plane, and inviting viewers into dialogue through their own narratives. Extending from Anatolia to Paris, Dinç’s practice is marked by a simple yet powerful sculptural language. For his integrity in working with materials, formal discipline, and lasting impact, he was deemed worthy of the Baksı Museum Honor Award.
