Currency/Dial is a new family of sculptural wall-reliefs. Each work is unique to its commissioner and is based on an architectural design of an early glasshouse (greenhouse). Made in cast aluminium with edge-lit plexiglas detail, Currency/Dial holds a tension between material formality and fluid light. The work’s genesis lies in the artist’s transformative childhood experience of time spent in her family greenhouse which she sees as a place of both practical and metaphysical potential – created through the grafting of structure, light and transparency.
